A1A Web Design serves businesses in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Brevard counties, the stretch of Florida's Atlantic coast from the Palm Beaches north to the Space Coast. Every project runs remotely from Buffalo, New York, by phone, video and email, so we also work with businesses anywhere else in Florida.
What the A1A Corridor Is
State Road A1A is Florida's Atlantic coast road. In its guide to the East Coast Greenway, Visit Florida (opens in a new tab) notes that much of the greenway runs alongside A1A on the Atlantic coast, from Fernandina Beach south all the way to Key West. Our part of that coast covers five counties, from Palm Beach County north through Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River to Brevard.
In the three northern counties, FDOT's Florida Scenic Highways program pairs A1A with US 1 in two designated byways. The Indian River Lagoon-Treasure Coast Scenic Highway (opens in a new tab), designated in 2005, runs 42 miles in St. Lucie County, with A1A on the barrier island and US 1 on the mainland through Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie. The Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway (opens in a new tab), designated by the state in 2000 and nationally in 2002, covers 233 miles, following A1A down the coast from Cape Canaveral to Wabasso Beach and US 1 through mainland towns such as Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne and Sebastian.
That pairing explains a lot about local business. A1A is the beach road, and US 1 is the mainland main street, with causeways in between. A restaurant on the island and a contractor on the mainland may share a county, but their customers make very different trips. A good website says clearly which side you are on, which crossing reaches you and who you are there to serve.
The Five Counties at a Glance
County seat, population and share of residents 65 and older in the five A1A counties we serve, listed south to north
| County | County seat | 2020 Census | July 1, 2025 estimate | Age 65 and older |
| Palm Beach | West Palm Beach | 1,492,191 | 1,575,726 | 26.1% |
| Martin | Stuart | 158,431 | 166,272 | 33.6% |
| St. Lucie | Fort Pierce | 329,226 | 402,449 | 24.9% |
| Indian River | Vero Beach | 159,788 | 172,799 | 37.3% |
| Brevard | Titusville | 606,612 | 663,982 | 26.5% |
Population and age: U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts (opens in a new tab) (age share is the 2025 estimate). County seats: National Association of Counties, County Explorer (opens in a new tab).
A few patterns stand out. Palm Beach County alone has more residents than the other four combined. St. Lucie is growing fastest, by an estimated 22.2 percent between the April 2020 estimates base and July 2025. Indian River has the oldest population, with 37.3 percent of residents 65 or older against 22.8 percent statewide. Those differences change what a website needs to do, which is why we write a separate page for each county instead of one page with five names on it.
How the Counties Differ
The largest market on our stretch of coast, with 55,803 employer establishments in 2023 by Census count, more than the other four counties combined. In the north of the county, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, completed in 1860, stands within a 120-acre Outstanding Natural Area that Congress designated in 2008, according to the Bureau of Land Management (opens in a new tab). With that many businesses competing for the same searches, specific, well-built pages matter more than page count.
A smaller, older market, with about a third of residents 65 or older. The Nathaniel P. Reed Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge (opens in a new tab) protects what the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service calls the largest contiguous section of undeveloped beach in Southeastern Florida. Sites here need to be easy to read and easy to call from, and businesses near the refuge and the beaches should get their place names exactly right.
The fastest-growing of the five, with Fort Pierce as the county seat and the center of the Treasure Coast Scenic Highway. New residents have to find a dentist, a plumber and a favorite restaurant from scratch, so local service businesses here gain the most from clear service-area pages and a well-maintained Google Business Profile.
Home of Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge (opens in a new tab), which President Theodore Roosevelt designated in 1903 as the nation's first national wildlife refuge. With the oldest population of the five and many part-time residents, accessibility and seasonal timing come first.
Florida's Space Coast, home to Kennedy Space Center and Port Canaveral. The county's tourism office says launch providers book pads on an almost weekly basis, and it warns that every launch date is subject to change, so Brevard sites need event content that can be updated in minutes.
Businesses Elsewhere in Florida
These five counties are where we focus our research, but nothing about how we work requires your business to be on A1A. If you run a business in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, the Keys or a small inland town, the process is the same: a discovery call, a written quote, private preview links, full testing and launch. Before we write about a new area, we research it the way we researched these counties, from official sources such as the Census Bureau, county governments and state agencies, and we leave out anything we cannot verify.
How Remote Work Operates
A1A Web Design is a remote studio of AldoMedia, LLC., which has built websites from Buffalo, New York since 1999. We do not have a Florida office and we do not make site visits. Here is how a project runs without them.
Same clock, long hours
Buffalo and the Florida coast share the Eastern time zone. We take calls every day from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern, so early openers and late closers both get a convenient slot.
Video walkthroughs instead of visits
We share screens to look at your current site, your Google Business Profile and your competitors together, and we record decisions in writing afterward.
Photos and content by checklist
You get a clear list of what we need. For photos, that means your own shots, a local photographer working from our shot list, or properly licensed images, never stock photos passed off as your business.
Private preview links
You review real pages on your own phone and computer, wherever you are, and send changes by email or on a call.
Launch and support
We launch, set up Search Console and a sitemap, and stay on call for changes. If you like, you can edit text and photos yourself with AldoMedia SimpleCMS.
Storm season: the National Hurricane Center (opens in a new tab) puts the Atlantic hurricane season at June 1 to November 30. Because our studio is not on the coast, a storm that closes your doors does not stop our work. We can post closure notices and updated hours on your site for you while you deal with what matters.
Services Available in Every County
Every service below is available to any business we work with, wherever it is in Florida.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my business have to be on A1A itself to work with you?
No. The road gives the region its name, but we work with businesses anywhere in the five counties, including mainland and inland communities such as Wellington, Palm City, Indiantown, Port St. Lucie, Fellsmere and Palm Bay. What matters is that we understand your customers, not your distance from the beach.
Will you take on a Florida business outside these five counties?
Yes. Every project already runs by phone, video and email, so a business in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville or the Keys gets the same process, testing and support. We research your area from official sources before we write about it, just as we did for the counties on this page.
Why is your service area organized by county instead of by city?
Because each county works as its own market. Tourism offices, economic data and many local services are organized by county, and each county page on this site carries its own research, towns, industries and advice. We would rather publish five pages that say something real than dozens of city pages that repeat each other.
Does working remotely change the price or the timeline?
It removes travel from the equation, so there are no trip costs in our quotes and no waiting for a visit. Every project is quoted in writing with a timeline after a free consultation, and the schedule depends on the size of the site and how quickly content and feedback come together.
What happens to my website project if a hurricane hits the coast?
Our studio is in Buffalo, so the work keeps going while you deal with the storm. We pause reviews until you are ready, and if you need it we can post closure notices and updated hours on your site for you. We can also plan your storm-season notices before the season starts.
