A1A Web Design builds websites and search groundwork for Palm Beach Gardens medical and professional offices, home-service companies, real estate agents, research firms and Sunday market vendors. Aldo does the work remotely from Buffalo, New York, which keeps the same Eastern time as the Gardens. There is no Florida office, so meetings run by phone, video or email.

Palm Beach Gardens at a Glance for Business Owners

Palm Beach Gardens is an incorporated city that began as a plan on paper. On March 20, 1959, insurance magnate and landowner John D. MacArthur announced he would develop about 4,000 acres with homes for 55,000 people, according to the city's own history (opens in a new tab). He wanted to call it Palm Beach City; when permission for that name was denied, he chose Palm Beach Gardens to fit his garden-city idea. The Palm Beach Gardens Historical Society (opens in a new tab), a nonprofit, dates the incorporation to June 20, 1959. Golf arrived early: the city's history records that the PGA moved into its new clubhouse here in March 1965, then left that property in 1972.

The 2020 Census counted 59,182 residents. The Census Bureau's city and town population estimates (opens in a new tab) put the city at 63,883 on July 1, 2025, a gain of about 4,700 people in a little over five years. The county planning division's Palm Beach County Profile (opens in a new tab) shows the longer climb, from 22,965 residents in 1990. The same table gives the city 56.72 square miles of land, the largest land area of any municipality in the county (West Palm Beach is second at 53.81), and estimates about 7,115 additional seasonal residents in 2020 beyond the year-round count.

The Census Bureau's American Community Survey for 2020-2024 (social characteristics profile for Palm Beach Gardens (opens in a new tab)) describes an older, highly educated population that mostly grew up somewhere else. The median age is 51.8, and 32.5% of residents are 65 or older, compared with 24.8% county-wide in the same survey (opens in a new tab). Of adults 25 and over, 57.4% hold at least a bachelor's degree, against 40.5% for the county. Only 26.0% of residents were born in Florida, while 58.3% were born in another state, well above the county figure of 38.7%. And 16.7% of residents age 5 and older speak a language other than English at home, less than half the county's share.

A Mainland City Reached by PGA Boulevard

Unlike the beach towns elsewhere on this site, Palm Beach Gardens is not organized along A1A. For directions, the roads that matter are I-95, Florida's Turnpike and PGA Boulevard, which has exits on both highways. The campus map for Palm Beach State College at Palm Beach Gardens (opens in a new tab) gives a sense of distances: its entrance at 3160 PGA Blvd. is 1.6 miles east of I-95 and 3.2 miles east of the Turnpike exit. City Hall sits on North Military Trail.

Water still matters here, just not surf. The coastal management element of the city's comprehensive plan (opens in a new tab) commits the city to protecting the marine habitat and water quality of Little Lake Worth and the Intracoastal Waterway, and it requires marinas and docking facilities in the city to keep a fuel spillage contingency plan. The oceanfront communities nearby, such as Juno Beach and Singer Island, are separate markets with their own pages on this site.

Public Places People Give Directions By

  • City Hall Municipal Campus, 10500 N. Military Trail, where the city's Recreation Department runs The Gardens GreenMarket (opens in a new tab) every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 2026-2027 main season opened on October 4, 2026, and the city's market information page (opens in a new tab) lists a summer market on Sundays from June through September.
  • Sandhill Crane Golf Club, the city's municipal golf facility, with the par-72 Champions Course and The Nest, a par-3 course that the city says opened in the summer of 2023 (opens in a new tab).
  • Frenchman's Forest Natural Area, a 172-acre county preserve (opens in a new tab) at 12201 Prosperity Farms Road with a paved 0.4-mile trail, a boardwalk through a cypress swamp and wildlife ranging from gopher tortoises to manatees. The photo above was taken at its trailhead.
  • Palm Beach State College at Palm Beach Gardens, whose BioScience Technology Complex houses programs including biotechnology, environmental science and electrical power technology.

The Economy the City Is Trying to Build

The economic development element (opens in a new tab) of the comprehensive plan spells out the industries the city wants: medical and pharmaceutical, aerospace and engineering, information technology, business and financial services, education, and research and development. It also lists tourism, retirement and recreation as resource-based sectors to keep, and it keeps a targeted expedited permitting program for companies that expand in, or move into, the city.

Bioscience has a particular history here. The city's Scripps Florida page (opens in a new tab) recounts that in September 2004 the council adopted a resolution supporting the Briger Tract as the location of the Scripps Florida campus, and that Palm Beach Gardens and the Town of Jupiter each gave $3 million to the county to help establish it. The first phase went up on 30 acres in Jupiter's Abacoa development and held its grand opening on February 26, 2009. The city's future land use element (opens in a new tab) still maintains a Bioscience Research Protection Overlay, meant to promote bioscience uses and to deter converting those uses to commercial or residential ones.

Residents' own jobs fit that mix. In the 2020-2024 survey, 19.9% of employed residents worked in education, health care and social assistance, and 18.9% in professional, scientific, management and administrative services. Another 19.9% of workers worked from home. The median household income was $106,947, and the median value of an owner-occupied home was $606,100.

What a Website Needs to Do in Palm Beach Gardens

Taken together, those figures describe residents who are older than the county as a whole, more likely to hold a degree, and often raised in another state, so local shorthand such as "the plaza by the old bank" may mean nothing to them. One website has to work for all of them.

  • Readable at any age: almost one resident in three is 65 or older, and 18.7% are 75 or older. WCAG 2.2 asks for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and text that can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing content; we test against both and keep tap targets at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels. Our ADA website accessibility page covers the testing.
  • Directions for people who grew up elsewhere: when most residents were born in another state, describe your location by things anyone can find on a map, such as PGA Boulevard, Military Trail, the I-95 and Turnpike exits, City Hall or the college campus.
  • Proof for a careful reader: with 57.4% of adults 25 and older holding at least a bachelor's degree, vague promises fall flat. Show credentials, explain your process step by step, say what a first visit or consultation involves, and answer the questions people ask before they pick up the phone.
  • Booking that fits a home-office day: about one worker in five works from home. Online scheduling, short quote forms and a phone number that dials with one tap let them reach you between video calls instead of waiting until evening.
  • A short seasonal note is usually enough: the planning division's 2020 estimate of about 7,115 seasonal residents is a far smaller share of the population than in the Town of Palm Beach or Highland Beach. Add a few lines for winter residents to the pages where their needs differ, such as hours or scheduling.
  • Waterfront without a beach: the city's coastal plan protects Little Lake Worth and the Intracoastal Waterway, and there is no ocean beach to point to. A boat, dock or marine service business here should name the waterway it is on and explain how boats reach it, because the city name alone does not tell a boater that.

Industries We Build For in Palm Beach Gardens

Medical, dental and therapy practices

The city lists medical and pharmaceutical businesses among its targets, and the resident base skews older. Practice sites need plain explanations of services, insurance and first-visit details, with accessible forms that work with a screen reader. We build them from scratch through custom website design, not a theme.

Financial, legal and other professional offices

Business and financial services are on the city's list of target industries, and most residents here were born outside Florida. An attorney, accountant or adviser should say plainly which Florida matters the office handles, what a client who moved from another state needs to bring or change, and how fees work, all before the first meeting. Writing those answers as short questions and answers, with matching structured data, also gives search engines and AI assistants accurate text to quote, which is the focus of our answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization work.

Real estate agents and property managers

The median owner-occupied home was valued at $606,100 in the 2020-2024 survey, and the city spreads across 56.72 square miles of land. In a place that size, "Palm Beach Gardens" on a listing does not tell a buyer where the home actually is. Neighborhood guides that place each community relative to PGA Boulevard, the I-95 and Turnpike exits and public landmarks such as Frenchman's Forest, plus a quick inquiry form, do more work than a slideshow. See real estate website design.

Food businesses and market vendors

The city's GreenMarket page (opens in a new tab) lists fresh produce, dairy, honey, pastries, prepared foods, flowers, cheeses, spices and handmade crafts. Those vendors, and the restaurants that serve the same Sunday shoppers, need menus and product lists that are easy to scan on a phone and quick to change from one week to the next. See restaurant website design.

Bioscience, engineering and technology firms

The comprehensive plan names aerospace and engineering, information technology, and research and development among the city's targets, and the Palm Beach State College campus on PGA Boulevard teaches biotechnology and electrical power technology. Firms in those fields need fast, well-structured sites with team and careers pages that hold up to technical readers, which is where our web development and website performance work comes in.

Home services for the golf communities

The city's economic development page (opens in a new tab) cites access to 14 golf courses. Landscapers, pool and pest services, contractors and cleaners who work in the communities around them need service-area pages that name the neighborhoods they really cover, which is the core of our local SEO work.

Palm Beach Gardens Website Questions

Should my website call it Palm Beach Gardens or the Gardens?

Use both, in different places. Put Palm Beach Gardens in your page titles, headings, address and structured data, because it is the official name and the one people type into a map app. Use the Gardens in body copy where it reads naturally, the way the city does when it names its Sunday market The Gardens GreenMarket. The nickname works best once a reader already knows where you are, so let it follow the full name on each page rather than replace it.

Most of my customers moved here from another state. What should the website do differently?

Assume some of them are still learning the area. The Census Bureau's 2020-2024 survey found that 58.3% of the city's residents were born in a different state. Describe your location with roads and public places they can find on a map, list the nearby towns you serve, and answer the Florida questions a newcomer has not faced before, such as storm preparation for a home service or state licensing for a professional practice.

How do I make a site easy to use for patients in their 70s and 80s?

Meet WCAG 2.2 AA first, then add the touches older patients notice most: a tappable phone number at the top of every page, forms that ask only for what you need, no timer that clears a half-finished form, and body text dark enough to read in bright light. Write directions and first-visit instructions as short numbered steps. Nearly one resident in five here is 75 or older, so these choices reach a lot of patients.

I sell at The Gardens GreenMarket and have no storefront. Do I need a website?

A small one helps. A shopper who meets you on a Sunday at the City Hall Municipal Campus may want to order again midweek or find you at a holiday event. One page with your products, how to order, whether you will be at the main season or the summer market, and how to reach you covers most of it. The city sets the market dates, so link to the city's market page instead of copying dates that can change.

Does a bioscience or engineering company in Palm Beach Gardens need a different website from a local shop?

Usually, yes. A research or engineering firm is often speaking to future employees, partners and investors more than to walk-in customers. It needs clear pages about what the company does, who leads it and which roles are open, written in plain language and fast on any connection. For someone driving in for an interview or a meeting, a short directions note from PGA Boulevard and the nearest I-95 or Turnpike exit is more useful than a list of service areas.
