A1A Web Design builds websites for Brevard County businesses: restaurants and hotels that fill up on launch nights, services for cruise travelers near Port Canaveral, aerospace and defense suppliers, and home-service companies in Palm Bay and Melbourne. Aldo works from Buffalo, New York, by phone, video and email on Eastern time, with no Florida office.
Brevard County by the Numbers
Brevard covers just over 1,000 square miles of land, and the 2020 Census counted 606,612 residents. The Census Bureau estimates 663,982 as of July 1, 2025. Titusville is the county seat, while Brevard County Government (opens in a new tab) lists its main address at the Government Center in Viera. The county's tourism office describes more than 72 miles of coastline.
Figures: U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts (opens in a new tab) and Florida's Space Coast Office of Tourism (opens in a new tab).
Those numbers hide a sharp split. The beach cities are small and older: Cocoa Beach counted 11,354 people in 2020 and Cape Canaveral 9,972, and Census estimates put about 36 percent of residents in each at 65 or older. Palm Bay, the county's most populous city, is the opposite. It counted 119,760 people in 2020, an estimated 148,092 by July 2025, and only 19.0 percent of its residents are 65 or older, while 22.1 percent are under 18. One county, two very different audiences.
Where A1A Runs on the Space Coast
FDOT's Florida Scenic Highways program describes Brevard's main roads as a pair in the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway (opens in a new tab). A1A runs down the Atlantic barrier island through Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach and Melbourne Beach, continuing south to Wabasso Beach in Indian River County. US 1 runs the mainland side through Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge and Melbourne. Causeways tie the two together across the lagoon.
North of the beach towns, the coast changes character. The same FDOT byway page notes that Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore sit on a barrier island system protected from development, right next to Kennedy Space Center. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (opens in a new tab) says the 140,000-acre refuge was established as an overlay of the space center and supports more than 1,500 species of plants and animals. At the south end, Sebastian Inlet marks the line with Indian River County.
For a website, the lesson is that "Brevard" is not one place to a customer. Someone on the beachside thinks in A1A addresses and causeways; someone in Viera or Palm Bay thinks in mainland neighborhoods and I-95 exits. Your directions, service-area wording and Google Business Profile should match how your customers actually travel to you.
Communities We Serve, from Titusville to Palm Bay
Our homepage lists these Brevard communities, and each draws its own mix of residents, workers and visitors. Here is how they differ for a business owner.
Titusville
The county seat, with 48,789 residents at the 2020 Census, on the mainland along US 1. FDOT's byway guide notes that Titusville is the eastern starting point of the 250-mile Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail. That gives cyclists and trail users a reason to search for Titusville bike shops, lodging and food, and gives those businesses a reason to publish trail-friendly information alongside their launch-day details.
Merritt Island, Cocoa, Rockledge and Viera
The middle of the county. Cocoa and Rockledge line US 1 on the mainland, and Viera is home to the county's Government Center. If your company serves both the mainland and the beachside from here, your website needs clear service-area language rather than a single-town focus.
Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach
The northern end of the A1A beach strip. Port Canaveral's offices are at 445 Challenger Road in Cape Canaveral, and the tourism office notes that launches can be seen from almost anywhere on the Space Coast. Restaurants, hotels, rentals, surf shops and tour operators here compete for travelers, many of whom choose where to eat or stay on a phone.
Satellite Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach
The southern beach towns. The Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge (opens in a new tab) begins at Melbourne Beach and runs 20.5 miles south to Wabasso Beach; the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service calls it the most significant area for loggerhead sea turtle nesting in the world and the most significant for green turtle nesting in North America. If most of your customers here are residents rather than visitors, your site should say so and speak to them first.
Melbourne and Palm Bay
The population center of south Brevard. Melbourne counted 84,678 residents in 2020, and Palm Bay grew by an estimated 23.7 percent between April 2020 and July 2025, faster than the county as a whole. A younger population changes the brief: families comparing contractors, child care, fitness and medical options want quick answers, clear pricing where possible and online booking.
The Industries Behind Brevard's Customers
- Spaceflight. NASA says Kennedy Space Center was established as an official NASA center in 1962 and is now working with more than 90 private-sector partners. The county's tourism office says launch providers are booking pads on an almost weekly basis.
- Defense. Space Launch Delta 45 (opens in a new tab), headquartered at Patrick Space Force Base, oversees launch operations for Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and runs the Eastern Range. The county is also home to 65,035 veterans, according to Census survey data.
- Cruise and cargo. Port Canaveral, dedicated in 1953, calls itself one of the world's busiest cruise ports, and its website (opens in a new tab) reports more than 8.6 million cruise passengers and 6.2 million short tons of cargo in fiscal year 2025.
- Beaches and nature. More than 72 miles of coastline, a national seashore, the Merritt Island and Archie Carr national wildlife refuges and Sebastian Inlet at the county's southern edge.
- Restaurants and lodging. Accommodation and food services sales in Brevard reached about $1.86 billion in 2022, per Census Bureau figures.
- A growing mainland. Palm Bay's growth and the county's 15,510 employer establishments in 2023 add up to a large market for everyday local services.
What This Means for a Brevard County Website
These are the places where a Space Coast site should be built differently from one in Vero Beach or the Palm Beaches.
Launch days need a site that can change fast
The tourism office's launch schedule page (opens in a new tab) warns that all launch dates and times are subject to change. A restaurant or hotel that hard-codes launch dates into five pages will soon be wrong on all five. We build one launch notice you can edit from your phone, link to the official schedule instead of copying it, and write an evergreen page about watching launches from your location, with honest notes on parking, hours and what guests can and cannot see. Google Business Profile special hours (opens in a new tab) handle the late-night openings, and any watch party you list as an event gets updated, not abandoned, when a launch slips.
Cruise travelers plan from far away
Cruise passengers usually plan before they travel, and they arrive with questions: how far you are from the terminals, whether you hold luggage, what parking or transportation costs, and what time you open on sailing days. Pages that answer those questions directly, with matching FAQ markup, help both the traveler and the answer engines that summarize them. Our hospitality website design and answer engine optimization work starts there.
Supplier sites for engineering buyers
Aerospace and defense buyers want to know quickly what you make, what you are qualified to do and how to reach the right person. A clean capability page, your NAICS codes and other registration identifiers, the quality certifications you actually hold and an accessible PDF capability statement do more than stock photos of rockets. We add strict security headers and keep forms to ordinary contact details, because a public marketing site is the wrong place for controlled technical data. See web development for how we build these.
Space imagery without the legal trouble
It is tempting to put the NASA logo on everything here. NASA's media guidelines (opens in a new tab) say its insignia and logotype are protected by law, and that commercial use of NASA material must not imply the agency endorses your business. We use launch imagery carefully, credit it properly, and design a brand that stands on its own.
Two audiences, two kinds of design
A Cocoa Beach business with an older clientele and a Palm Bay business with young families should not share a template. For the beachside, we lean on large type, simple menus and tap-to-call; for the mainland, on quick quotes, online booking and service-area pages that each carry real local detail. Either way, every site is built to WCAG 2.2 AA; see ADA website accessibility.
Plain-English tip: if a big share of your sales happens on launch nights or sailing days, keep a running list of the questions staff answer on the phone. Those questions are the outline of your best-performing pages.

How a Remote Project Runs on Space Coast Time
Discovery by phone or video
We talk any day from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern, so a call can fit around a launch night, a ship day or a shift at the plant. You get a written quote and timeline.
Map your customers, not just your pages
We sort out who you serve: beachside visitors, mainland families, cruise passengers or business buyers, and plan the pages and search terms for each.
Design and build in a private preview
You click through real, working pages on your own phone. We hand-code the approved design and connect forms, booking and analytics.
Test, then launch
Lighthouse, W3C validation, axe accessibility checks and security header checks before anything goes live, then Search Console, a sitemap and redirects from your old URLs.
Stay current after launch
Launch dates, specials and seasonal hours change constantly here. You can edit them yourself with AldoMedia SimpleCMS, or send them to us.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should my website do when a rocket launch is scrubbed or moved to another day?
Change one thing in one place. We build launch-night details as a single notice you can edit from your phone, link visitors to the official launch schedule instead of repeating dates across your site, and show you how to update special hours on your Google Business Profile. If you list a watch party as an event, we mark it as rescheduled or cancelled rather than leaving a stale date online.
Can I use the NASA logo or launch photos on my business website?
Be careful. NASA's own guidelines say its insignia and logotype are protected by law and are not in the public domain, and that commercial use of NASA material must not suggest NASA endorses your business. Many NASA photos are not copyrighted, but some on NASA sites belong to third parties. We check the source and credit of every image we use.
Can you build a website for an aerospace or defense supplier?
Yes, for the public-facing side of the business. We build fast, secure, accessible marketing sites with clear capability pages, the identifiers buyers look for and a simple way to request a quote. We do not host, collect or process classified or export-controlled information, and we keep forms limited to ordinary contact details.
What do cruise passengers need from a hotel or restaurant website near Port Canaveral?
Plain answers to practical questions: how far you are from the cruise terminals, what time you open on sailing days, whether you offer parking or transportation and what it costs, and how to book. Most are planning before they arrive, so a fast mobile page that answers these questions in the first screen does more than a long gallery.
Should a Palm Bay company build separate pages for Melbourne and the beach towns?
Only if you have something real to say on each one. A page per community works when it explains what you actually do there, such as projects, service times or travel details. Swapping a city name into the same paragraph adds nothing for customers and can hold your whole site back in search.
Is Brevard County's county seat Titusville or Viera?
Titusville is the county seat, but Brevard County Government lists its main address at the Government Center, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way in Viera. If your business deals with county offices, check which building handles each service and say so plainly on your site.
